jags software package provides Just Another Gibbs Sampler for Bayesian MCMC simulation, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install jags
jags is installed in your system.
Make ensure the jags package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep jags *
You will get with jags package name, version, architecture and description in a table
